Going Outside

To Get Strong And Be Prepared You Have to Start Going Outside

The Wild West Survival Fitness Academy is a fitness school created by Bear Gallagher Cole. It’s focus is on Well Rounded Fitness That Prepares You For Anything. To learn more about the Wild West Survival Fitness Academy Check Out this Information.

Bear Gallagher Cole is the Wild West Explorer. Bear has dedicated his life and time to motivating others to see the importance of Going Outside, Staying Healthy, and Exploring. He is an avid outdoorsman, who was born and raised in the Grand Canyon National Park. He is a Survivalist, and Certified Wilderness First Responder. He shares his knowledge of Preparedness and Survival through the Wild West Survival Academy. A school of knowledge and classes that helps anyone prepare for short term or long term disasters and emergencies.

The two go hand and hand. Where as the Wild West Survival Academy helps you prepare skills, supplies, and mentally to survive, the Wild West Survival Fitness Academy will help you prepare physically. To survive, you will need to be Mentally & Physically prepared.

As you can guess, as a Survivalist and Wilderness First Responder the outdoors takes a very important part in Bear’s Survival Training. Survival Fitness is no different, and spending time outdoors is vital to becoming physically prepared.

The Great Outdoors

The Great Outdoors. It is obviously the main theme to my life, writing, and experience. Without it I believe you lose touch with what it is to be human. Survival Fitness is all about being prepared for whatever comes your way. Many of the experiences we have outdoors remind us of just how cushy modern life has become, and furthermore the vast beauty of our planet.

There are many parts of the survival fitness program, and many can be done in a gym. Let me rephrase that, many parts of the Survival Fitness program should be done in the gym. However, unlike most programs, going outdoors is a key component to the Wild West Survival Fitness Academy and it’s purpose.

You have to spend time outdoors to be prepared for anything. Please don’t take this wrong, but without facing the extremes of temperature, uneven grade of the terrain, and the threat of the great outdoors – your just a pussy with big muscles or nice running shoes.

You might ask what kind of outdoor workouts we are recommending here.

Well, it is up to you.  Some of the workouts posted here will require you go outside, but you can always mix it up.  Hiking up a mountain, or down a canyon is great cardio and endurance work, and the view is much nicer than that fake Video Game touch screen on the treadmill at your gym.

I prefer to do heavy farmers carries, stone work, sand bags, and sleds outside in the dirt and the heat and the cold.  A farmers carry in snow when the temperature is below freezing will do things to your body that you can’t simulate in the gym.  Due to this the challenge and reward ratio is greater. However, just like in the gym, it is always important to make sure you keep safety first.

Remember, many of the exact science workouts you read in magazines and books, are for body builders. Survival Fitness is not for Body Builders! Survival Fitness is for people who want to look and feel strong and healthy, and have functional strength, endurance & stamina, flexibility, body composition, and agility.

The Wild West Survival Fitness Academy is not focused on building a perfect physique. It’s focus is giving you Well Rounded fitness that prepares you for anything and furthermore improves your quality of life.

Don’t be afraid to take your workouts outside into the fresh air. Be safe, but challenge yourself. Hike in the cold, run in the heat. After all, being able to push these limits of strength and endurance is exactly what Survival Fitness is all about! Be Safe, but Don’t Be A Weakling!

Going Outside

Next time you think about working out, whether it is a run, body weight exercise, or stretching, try Going Outside. Skip the treadmill, and the sweaty dirty gym mats. Lace up those shoes, and hit the park or a trail. Especially relevant to fitness Going Outside makes exercise easier, it is Scientifically Proven. Fresh Air and Sunlight are not only nice, in addition to mental benefits they help improve your physical health.

I hop that you choose to study some of the Wild West Survival Fitness Academy workouts I share, or even contact me to be your Personal Trainer and get a customized plan. However, if you don’t, that is fine. Just make sure you take one piece of advise and start Going Outside more.

I even wrote an eBook all about the advantages of the outdoors called “Go Outside” you can Download it for free by clicking here. I think it will help motivate you to get up off your ass, and enjoy the outside a little more.

Out exploring again. I love hiking around Flagstaf Out exploring again. I love hiking around Flagstaff and catching the peaks from so many different views. At this point I think I have seen them from every possible angle, and it still never gets old. These mountains are such an important place spiritually, and I’m lucky to enjoy them. If you are ever out exploring in this part of the world, please remember these mountains are not just a place to ski, hike, ride your bike, or play. You are walking in a place with huge significance to people. This is a spiritual place, and deserves your respect and protection. Give love to this place and you can feel it come right back to you. #sanfranciscopeaks

There was a seriously cold wind from the Northwest. The hard wind blowing against us just made for a better workout. Got some good snow fall so we can’t complain.
